Fare Thee Well has a tradition of lighting five fires in five fire pits across the sanctuary to mark special occasions such as the Summer and Winter Solstices and the Equinoxes.
There is one of these occasions that stands out from the rest and that is the one that occurs on the Friday following Thanksgiving.
This is the primary event for the year and honors the presence of the fire sites and in some ways reminds us that we are not the first peoples that have lit a ceremonial fire on these grounds.
The main fire is lit in the field below the lodge, where music, conversation, and community often become part of the celebration.
