How Much do you know about Fare Thee Well

How much do you know about Fare Thee Well?

Did you know it was founded fifty years ago by members of a non-denominational church in Huntington that weren’t particularly happy with the preaching and restrictions that the reverend of the original church had pushed onto the congregation.
Their answer to him was to say, “We will keep our freedom of expression and acceptance of all paths and do so in another church of our own making”.

They chose a place for their new church on land donated by the Watkins family who gifted the land to Fare Thee Well.
Fare Thee Well in later years put much of the land into a Conservation Land Trust that protects the natural beauty and nature of the grounds.
The land under Fare Thee Well has its own story regarding the occupation of the land which dates to the times when native peoples were the owners and users of the land. There is a great Energy in the land at Fare Thee Well and evidence that native peoples used the Quarts outcroppings that occur across the whole of the property for worship and healing.

In regard to the Quartz rock outcroppings; they follow a geological fault that passes directly in front of the door of the caretakers cabin. The lodge building we use, is elevated onto a block of rock whose Eastern edge is defined by the fault near the cabin and can be traced into the woods and on across the street up onto Mount Pisgah for almost a mile.
The Western edge of the block is just West of the lodge building and again can be seen in the Quartz massif visible near the porch of the lodge.Quartz carries a lot of spiritual energy and there is plenty of quartz underlying Fare Thee Well.

Why is there a fault under Fare Thee Well?Interesting question, that involves geology over a very large part of Western Massachusetts centered in what is now called the Goshen Dome.
I will answer the fault question with the next issue of the Fare Thee Well Newsletter.
